Hofstra and St. John’s each received three votes in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top-25 national rankings released on Tuesday. While the votes were not enough to put either team among the 25, both are among the 40 top ranked programs across the nation.
Florida State was the overwhelming selection for the poll’s top spot receiving 22 of 39 first place votes. Rounding out the top-5 were Duke, Stanford, Virginia and defending national champion Penn State.
On a regional basis, Hofstra was ranked second by the NSCAA in the Mid-Atlantic region, while St. John’s was ranked fifth in the Northeast region.
