Hofstra MSOC 2019 Schedule Features 10 Home Games

The Hofstra men’s soccer team will face four 2018 NCAA tournament team this season as part of its 2019 schedule that kicks off at home on August 30 against Fordham

Featured among last season’s tournaments that will face Richard Nuttall’s team are No. 12 seed Virginia Tech and quarterfinalist James Madison. The Pride’s non-conference opponents last season had a winning percentage of .547. 

“I am very pleased with how our schedule shapes up this season and especially happy to have 10 home games,” said the head coach, who is now in his 31st year at Hofstra. “We feel that we are a very good squad and that we can compete against anyone in the country. Our 2019 schedule gives us plenty of chances to test ourselves against quality opposition.”

Other highlights of Hofstra’s schedule include matches against two Long Island schools. The Long Island Rivalry, presented by The Greene Turtle, is renewed Sept. 18 when Stony Brook (9-6-3) visits Hempstead. On October 1, Long Island University will hit the Hofstra Soccer Stadium pitch.

The Colonial Athletic Association portion of the schedule begins on September 6 at James Madison. The first conference home match is September 21 vs. Elon. 

The CAA Championship gets underway Nov. 8 and Nov. 10 with the quarterfinals and semifinals at the site of the top two seeds. The championship game will take place Nov. 16 at the highest remaining seed.
