Hofstra’s men’s soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to eight (6-0-2) with a 1-0 win over Colonial Athletic Association rival Delaware Saturday night at Grant Stadium.

The Pride’s lone goal came early as Oscar Ramsay scored his second goal of the season in the 14th minute, deflecting a shot from Hendrik Hebbeker past Blue Hens keeper Todd Morton.

The win is also the eighth consecutive match in which Hofstra has not allowed a goal, the longest streak in NCAA Division I. The last goal allowed by the Pride was the 88th-minute game-winner scored by Syracuse’s Tajon Buchanan in the Orange’s 4-3 win over Hofstra on September 2.

Hofstra is now 6-3-3 on the season and 3-0-1 in the CAA. Hofstra keeper Alex Ashton did not record a save as the Blue Hens did not put a shot on goal.

The Pride will back in action Wednesday night at Northeastern with a 6 p.m. start time.
