It will be difficult for St. Joseph’s (L.I.) senior Christina Gagliardi to replicate the week she enjoyed to close out September.

The senior forward from Ronkonkoma was named the Skyline Conference women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week after she scored nine goals and added two assists to lead the Golden Eagles to two victories.

St. Joseph’s defeated SUNY Old Westbury 5-1 on September 25 and three days later topped SUNY Maritime 7-2.

In the win over Long Island rival Old Westbury, Gagliardi had a hat-trick and an assist, scoring the final three goals of the game.

Against Maritime, she scored a program-record six times and added an assist in the win. The Sachem North graduate scored St. Joseph’s first three goals and final three goals of the match.

Through her first eight games on the season, Gagliardi has 16 goals and six assists. Her highest single-season goal total is 19, which she reached in her sophomore and junior seasons. Her six assists are a career-high.

As of September 30, Gagliardi led the nation in points-per-game (4.75), goals-per-game (2.00) and total goals.
