Gagliardi’s Hat-Trick Leads St. Joe’s In Skyline Playoffs

Three goals by Christina Gagliardi led St. Joseph’s to a 4-0 over The College of Mt. St. Vincent in the first round of the Skyline Conference women’s soccer championships.

The Ronkonkoma native opened the scoring in the 8th minute. On the play, the junior carried the ball down the right side and hit a hard shot to the lower left cover. Eight minutes later junior Shannon Condron of Ridge put a shot into the lower left corner to extend the Golden Eagles lead to 2.

In the 23rd minute, Gagliardi would get her second of the game off a feed from sophomore Carly Credidio of Farmingville. Her hat-trick would come off a goal scored in the 52nd minute.

St. Joseph’s keeper Juliana Cintron-Leonardo of Riverhead had four saves to earn her eighth clean sheet for the season.

The Golden Eagles advance to face second-seeded Mount St. Mary on the road on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
