Four LI High Schools Ranked Nationally

NSCAA, High School PollWith high school soccer playoffs underway across Long Island, four local schools are included in Top-25 polls from USA Today and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

In the girls poll, undefeated St. Anthony’s (14-0-0) slides back one spot to No. 5, while Islip (12-0-2) holds steady at No. 8 and Massapequa (12-2-2) remains at No. 14.

During the past week, St. Anthony’s defeated Kellenberg 4-1 and Northport 2-0, Islip closed out the regular season with a 6-0 win over Southampton and Massapequa finished its regular season schedule with a 1-1 draw with Calhoun, a 0-0 draw with McDonough (Md.) and a 4-0 win over Plainview JFK.

On the boys side, St. Anthony’s (17-1-3) returns to the Top-25 at No. 18. They finished their regular season schedule with wins over St. Mary’s 8-0 and Chaminade 1-0.
