Four From Long Island Net ECC Honor Roll Accolades

Four players in the East Coast Conference with Long Island connections have been named to the weekly honor rolls for women’s and men’s soccer.

Women

Dana Poetzsch, Molloy (Junior, Midfielder, Hicksville): Poetzsch netted two goals on the week. She scored Molloy’s lone goal in a 2-1 loss to No. 16 Saint Rose. In a 3-1 win over Georgian Court, Poetzsch scored the team’s third goal on a breakaway

Trista Seara

Victoria Ramirez, Queens (Senior, Forward, Valley Stream): Ramirez continued her strong start to the 2019 season with a goal in each of the Knights’ two contests in the previous week. She scored on a breakaway in the team’s 2-1 loss to Stonehill and then volleyed home a cross from Alexis Quealy as the Knights triumphed over Jefferson 1-0.

Trista Seara, Mercy (Senior, Lindenhurst): Seara recorded two goals on the week against Adelphi and Wilmington, scoring the game-winning goal in both games.

Carlos Bonilla

Carlos Bonilla, Molloy (Senior, Midfielder, Brentwood): Bonilla tallied two goals in the Lions’ 3-1 victory over Bloomfield. The senior scored the game-winning goal in the 20th minute to put Molloy ahead 2-0. He then converted on a penalty kick in the 87th minute to make it 3-1 to secure the victory.
