Former St. John’s Red Storm star Shea Connors continues to find professional success down under having signed with Brisbane Roar of Australia’s Westfield W-League. She will be with the team through the end of the current season.
The native of New Haven, Conn., joined Brisbane from Logan Lighting of the National Premier Leagues Women’s Queensland. Connors appeared in 15 matches for Logan scoring 25 goals. She had five hat-tricks and one game with six goals.
“I’m so excited. I’m really grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait for what’s to come,” Connors said. “To play with people I’ve looked up to will be an unreal experience and I’m ready to take the opportunity.”
Brisbane Head Coach Jake Goodship says it’s great to have a player of Connors’ quality locked in for the remainder of the season.
“We’re stoked to have Shea on board,” he said. “She’s obviously an immense talent who has shown in the NPLW QLD just how dangerous she can be in front of goal. Hopefully, she’ll play a key part in our run to another finals berth.”
Connors spent four years at St. John’s where she was an integral part of the Red Storm’s women’s soccer team. She finished her career with 73 appearances scoring 8 goals and 12 assists.
She began her professional career in 2018 when she signed with Iceland’s Knattspyrnufélag Reykjavíkur.
