Fordham Women’s Soccer Adds Five For 2018 Season

Five new players will be joining Fordham’s women’s soccer team this fall including one Long Islander.

The incoming class includes Marissa Stanco (Glen Cove, N.Y./Portledge School), Claudia Cuicani (Stoney Creek, Ontario/Bishop Ryan Catholic), Kendall Dandridge (Hamilton, N.J./The Hun School of Princeton), Jenna Devine (Clinton, N.Y./Clinton) and Maggie Grossman (Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech College Prep)

“We are excited to welcome and add Claudia, Kendall, Jenna, Maggie and Marissa to the Fordham Women’s Soccer family, said Jessica Clinton, the team’s head coach. “They bring in a lot of experience after playing at high-level club and ODP programs. These young women have been leaders for their high school and club programs and we believe that this class will make an immediate contribution to the program as well as make the most of the opportunity that Fordham University will provide for them.”

Stanco, a 5-7 forward, was a multi-sport athlete at the Portledge School in Locust Valley, N.Y.  She played club soccer for the Albertson Fury of the ECNL, earning Attacking Player of the Year in 2017.  A multi-sport athlete at Portledge, she earned the PSAA Girls Soccer regular season (2015-17) and playoff MVP award (2014, 2016-17) three times each, finishing as the team’s career goals leader.  

Cuicani is a 5-8 defender, who attended Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School in Hannon, Ontario, Canada.  She was also a part of the Saltfleet Stoney Creek club team from 2008-17, earning multiple tournament championships.  Cuicani played soccer, basketball, and volleyball at Bishop Ryan, serving as team captain of the soccer team while being a two-time MVP in 2017 and 2018.  

Dandridge is a 5-7 defender from the Hun School of Princeton in New Jersey.  She competed in club soccer for the Players Development Academy (NJ) out of the ECNL (Elite Clubs National League), one of the premier leagues in the country. A multi-sport athlete, she was a four-year soccer player and senior year captain at the Hun School, where she earned Prep “A” First Team All-State honors as a senior and was named to The Trentonian All-Area squad.  She received the Mercer 33 Award in her final season and was selected to play in the Mercer County Hall of Fame Senior Game, after helping the Hun School to the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Championship.   

Devine is a 5-6 midfielder from Clinton High School in New York.  She played club soccer for the New York West Flash of the ECNL and for the ODP Region I team from 2014-17.  Devine was part of international events that traveled to Italy and Costa Rica, was chosen as a top 18 player for her age group that went to the Boca Raton, Florida, event, and lastly was invited to ODP National Camp in Arizona. A member of the varsity soccer team at Clinton, she earned All-League honors from 2013-17.  She served as team captain as a senior in 2017 after being named Offensive MVP in 2016.

Grossman is a 5-5 goalkeeper at Lane Tech College Prep in Chicago, Illinois.  She played club soccer for FC United from 2016-18, helping the team to the 2017 Disney Showcase Championship and runner-up status at the 2017 State Cup.  A four-year varsity soccer player at Lane Tech, she was a two-time All-City First Team and All-Section selection in 2016 and 2017, while earning MVP honors in 2017.  Off the field, Grossman served as the president of her chapter of the National Honor Society and was a four-year honor roll student.
