5 Named To United Soccer Coaches Men’s All-East Teams

Players from Adelphi, LIU Post and NYIT were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Regional teams.

All-East First Team
  • Patrick Guier – Graduate Student – Midfielder – Adelphi University – Monchengladbach, Germany: A starter in 20 matches in 2018, Guier had six goals and four assists. He was named to the Northeast 10 All-Conference First Team.
  • Lukas Ostermann – Graduate Student – Forward – LIU Post – Saterland, Germany: Ostermann ranked second in the nation with 23 goals and 52 points. During the regular season, Ostermann found the back of the net in 14 of 16 matches, including eight multi-goal outputs. During the postseason, he tallied the game-winning goal to help the Pioneers to its fourth-consecutive East Coast Conference championship.

All-East Second Team
  • Alessandro Corti – Junior – Defense – Adelphi University – Milan, Italy: A starter in 22 matches this past season for the Panthers, Corti helped anchor a defense that had a goals against average of 1.19. He was named to the Northeast 10 All-Conference First Team.
  • Bernd Schlüter – Graduate Student – Forward – NYIT – Everswinkel, Germany: Schlüter’s tallied a team-high 14 goals and also had one assist in 15 matches (14 starts). He previously was named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year and first-team All-ECC and had been the runner-up for the league’s Offensive Player of the Year award.
  • James Thristino – Senior – Forward – Adelphi University – Port Jefferson Station: Thristino led Adelphi in assists (13) and points (35) while finishing second in goals with 11. He was named to the Northeast 10 All-Conference First Team.
