Farmingdale State will open the NCAA Division III Soccer Championship in the Steel City as it faces No. 9 Carnegie Mellon on Saturday.
The Tartans are playing host to First and Second Round match that will be held on the Pittsburgh-based campus on Saturday and Sunday.
The Rams (13-7-2) qualified for the NCAAs with its 1-0 road win over Mount Saint Mary to win it 10th Skyline Conference Championship. Carnegie Mellon earned an at-large bid to the Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 13-2-2 record, including 5-1 in the University Athletic Association.
The other First Round game at Carnegie Mellon will feature Franklin College (14-4) versus Arcadia University (15-5). Franklin defeated Mount Saint Joseph, 2-0, in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Finals to claim an automatic bid, while Arcadia knocked off Messiah in MAC Commonwealth Championship to earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Championship.
The game times for Saturday will be at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. (teams to be decided later today) with the winners squaring off in the Second Round on Sunday at 7 p.m.
