
Long Island native Stephanie Sparkowski is among seven members of the University of Michigan’s incoming freshman class for Wolverines’ head coach Jennifer Klein.
A native of East Meadow, Sparkowski is a four-year letter-winner at East Meadow High School where she was a four-time scholar-athlete and a four-time Newsday Long Island Girls Soccer Player to Watch.
During her high school playing days, Sparkowski was a three-time co-captain and three-time All-County. She was named to the Newsday All-Long Island team twice and second-team as a sophomore, earned the Howard Gould Most Outstanding Goalie award as a senior and garnered New York State Sportswriters and Coaches Organization for Girls Sports All-State first-team honors as a senior and fourth team honors as a junior.
