Messiah College forward Nick West of East Hampton was named a Division III Men’s First-Team All-American by United Soccer Coaches.

In his senior season at the Mechanicsburg, PA, college, the East Hampton High School graduate led the nation in scoring with 30 goals. His goal total is one short of the program record of 31 set by Adrian Oostdyke in 1973. In addition, West’s 66 total points are tied for the second most in a single season in school history.

In fact, his 2018 goal total is more than double his goal total (26) during his first three seasons at Messiah.

After being held scoreless in the season opener against SUNY Cortland, West scored in 15 straight matches. That streak tied a Division III record and featured 24 goals and two hat tricks. He finished the season with a total of three hat tricks.

During his four years at Messiah, he has been a fixture on the pitch. He appeared in 91 matches during his college career with 86 starts.

In high school, West was a four-year varsity starter. In 2014 he was named to the NSCAA All-Region and was a two-time All-County honoree and three-time All-Conference honoree.
