New York Cosmos B stayed undefeated with a 5-0 win over Elm City Express Saturday at Hofstra Soccer Stadium and clinched home-field advantage for the NPSL’s North Atlantic Conference Division portion of the playoffs and the regular season division title.

The Cosmos (8-0-0, 24 points) got goals from Wojciech Wojcik, Darwin Espinosa, Danny Szetela, Bledi Bardic and Ivan Berterame to defeat the defending NPSL Champions.

New York closes out the season with two home games against second-place Hartford City (5-2-1, 16 points) this Saturday and against Kingston Stockdale FC on Saturday, July 7. Finishing the regular season undefeated could allow the Cosmos to play host to matches throughout the postseason.

According to the Cosmos website, playoff matches are tentatively scheduled for mid- to late-July.

With two games remaining in the regular season, head coach Carlos Mendes said the team remains focused on continuing to win as many games as possible.

We have a tough one coming up this weekend,” he told “That’s the goal. We want to be playing the best soccer going into the playoffs. That’s what we need to do.”
