Salvadoran international midfielder Junior Burgos connected on a pair of second-half free kicks for the Cosmos (3-0-0). Darwin Espinal, Charlie Ledula, and Joey Sanchez also scored.
Goalkeeper Santiago Castano recorded the team’s third clean sheet in as many games.
Espinal tallied his first goal of the season in the 50th minute. Burgos attempted a long shot from the right side that Boston goalkeeper Jason Katz punched out. The ball landed in front of Espinal on the left side and the midfielder powered a shot into the net.
Halftime substitute Charlie Ledula would double the score in the 62nd minute. The former LIU Post star took a long pass on the right side and tucked his shot into the lower right corner.
Burgos would get on the scoreboard in the 75th minute. His free kick from about 27 yards out found the upper left corner to give New York a 3-0 lead.
in the 85th minute, following a save by Katz on a David Diosa shot, Sanchez (Uniondale) slotted home the rebound to extend the lead to four.
Burgos completed the scoring as he connected on a 25-yard freekick from the left side.
The Cosmos now hit the road for three consecutive matches.
They will meet Hartford Athletic in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup second-round match in Hartford, Conn., on Tuesday night.
The Cosmos will then return to New England for a pair of NPSL games. On Friday, May 17, New York will visit the Greater Lowell Rough Diamonds. Two days later, they will face Hartford City FC in Hartford, Conn., on Sunday, May 19.
New York’s next NPSL match at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale, N.Y. will be against Hartford City on Saturday, June 1, at 8 p.m.
