Big Week For Long Islanders In Skyline Conference

Four Long Island collegiate soccer players led the way this week in receiving weekly women’s soccer honors from the Skyline Conference.

SUNY Maritime’s Julianna Avitto, a senior midfielder from Lindenhurst, was named Skyline Player of the Week. The St. John The Baptist graduate had a pair of two-goal games scoring twice in a 6-0 win over Yeshiva and both goals in Maritime’s 2-1 double-overtime victory over Saint Elizabeth.

The Skyline Rookie of the Week honors went to Carly Credidio of St. Joseph’s College (L.I.). The freshman forward from Farmingdale and Sachem East graduate had a pair of goals in the Golden Eagles 4-1 win over CCNY.

Included on the conference honor roll for the week was Farmingdale State’s, Daniella Ford. The goalkeeper from Elmont made 10 saves in a 1-0 loss to Scranton and made five saves in a 1-1 draw vs. No. 15 Geneseo.

St. Joseph’s (L.I.) Christina Gagliardi was also named to the honor roll. During the past week, she had two goals — including the game-winner — and an assist in the Golden Eagles win over CCNY. On the season, the Ronkonkoma native and Sachem North graduate has nine goals, including a five-goal performance vs. Brooklyn.
