A mix of play from the offensive and defensive side of the ball were major factors in Adelphi’s Savannah Taylor winning her second Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week award.

The junior from Glen Allen, Va., scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime of Adelphi’s 2-1 win at Stonehill College. She also assisted on the Panthers’ first goal of the game. Later in the week, Taylor was part of a defensive effort that helped lead Adelphi to a 1-0 win over New Haven, the team’s fifth clean sheet of the season.

Taylor has been a fixture on defense for Adelphi throughout the season and has played at least 90 minutes over the team’s past eight matches, which includes two overtime games.
