Only one week into the 2019 season and the Adelphi men’s soccer team is making some noise nationally. In the recent United Soccer Coaches Division II national poll, the Panthers were ranked No. 2 trailing only West Chester University.

Adelphi has started the season with two wins, 2-1 over Post University and 3-1 over Molloy College. It is the first time since 2010 that the Panthers have started the season with back-to-back wins.

Sophomore midfielder Filippo Peri has accounted for both of AU’s game-winning goals this year. Graduate midfielder Stephen Megaloudis of Bayville is tied with Peri for the team lead in scoring with four points (1 G, 2 A).

Adelphi is back in action on Friday when they welcome the College of Staten Island to Garden City for a 7:30 p.m. match at Motamed Field.
