The men’s and women’s soccer teams at Adelphi and LIU Post maintained their respective spots in the United Soccer Coaches polls as the teams at both colleges eye the end of the season and look toward the postseason.
In the men’s poll, LIU Post is ranked at No. 6, up two spots from the previous week, while Adelphi fell 12 spots and now sits at No. 14.
The Pioneers during the past week won twice, defeating Jefferson University 3-1 and the University of the District of Columbia 4-3. Adelphi during the past week went winless in a week for the first time this season. The Panthers played to a scoreless draw with Southern Connecticut State University and suffered its first defeat of the season, 2-1 to Merrimack College.
The women’s poll, Adelphi (12-0-0) jumped up four spots to No. 6 while LIU Post held steady at No. 12
The Panthers stayed undefeated with wins over Stonehill College 2-1 and College of St. Rose 2-0. The Pioneers of LIU Post also had another strong week with a pair of 4-0 wins over Queens College and Caldwell University.
