Adelphi’s men’s and women’s soccer teams are each off to a strong start and now stars from each of the teams have received recognition from the Northeast-10 Conference.

On the men’s side, senior Andre De Giorgi was named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, while senior Jeanine Nunez was tabbed Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week

In No. 2 Adelphi’s lone game of the week, a 5-2 win over Molloy on Wednesday, De Giorgi had a career-high four goals — all in the second half. He scored both the game-tying and game-winning goals as Adelphi trailed 1-0 at halftime.

Nunez netted a team-high five points in a 2-0 week for Adelphi, scoring two goals and adding an assist. She tallied the second goal in a 2-0 win over Mercy and added a goal and an assist in a 6-1 win vs. Merrimack.
