Three Long Island high school soccer teams are ranked in the Top-25 nationally in the latest USA Today/United Soccer Coaches polls.
On the boy’s side, Smithtown West enters the poll at No. 16 and Amityville enters the poll this week at No. 25. In addition, Commack, which is outside the Top-25, was among a handful of teams also receiving votes for consideration in the poll.
The girls poll includes Islip, which sits at No. 20 after not being ranked in the previous week’s poll.
Smithtown West (9-0-0) during the past week stayed hot with wins over Northport 2-0, Lindenhurst 2-0 and Connetquot 5-1. Through its first nine games, the Bulls have outscored its opposition 31-2.
Amityville (11-0-0) during the past week had wins over East Hampton 4-0, Westhampton 5-0 and Wyandanch 3-1. Through 11 games, the Warriors have outscored its opponents 50-5.
The Islip High School girls soccer team enter the USA Today/United Soccer Coaches poll with a record of (9-0-0). In three matches this past week, the Buccaneers defeated Glenn 4-3, East Islip 2-0 and Harborfields 2-1.
In addition, several Long Island high school soccer teams feature in Region II polls.
The boys Top-12 poll includes Smithtown West (No. 2), Amityville (No. 4), Commack (No. 6), Brentwood (No. 8) and Hauppauge (No. 10). The girls Top-14 poll includes Islip (No. 4) and Eastport-South Manor (No. 12).
