
The strong first season in the WPSL for SUSA FC came to an end on Sunday in Bethesda, Md.
In the East Regional final, SUSA fell to Cleveland Ambassadors 1-0. SUSA heads back to Long Island as Northeast Conference champions after finishing the regular season 7-1-0. They advanced to the finals after beating Torch FC 2-0 on Saturday.
With a roster comprised of former professional and college players, current college players and a few about to embark on their college careers, head coach JR Balzarini team’s only loss during the regular season was a 1-0 defeat to New York Athletic Club on June 17.
During the regular season, SUSA scored 28 goals while allowing only seven and had four clean sheets.
