The St. John’s Women’s Soccer team will kick off the 2018 season in mid-August as the Red Storm are set to meet five 2017 NCAA Tournament participants as part of its 18-game schedule.

Following early August pre-season matches against Wagner and Lehigh, St. John’s will head south to open its season on August 16 to meet the University of Tennessee. The Volunteers advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament in 2017 before losing to Washington State on penalties.

The team will return to New York to open the home portion of its schedule on August 19 as it welcomes Buffalo to Belson Stadium. The match will be the first time the two schools will have met since 1992 and only the second meeting between the two programs.

Other notable non-conference matches include a road visit to former Big East rival Syracuse on August 23, Stony Brook at home on September 2, and a trip to California where the Red Storm will visit Long Beach State on September 7 and Pepperdine on September 9.

The team opens conference play at home against Georgetown on September 23.

The 2018 Big East Women’s Soccer Championship will be hosted by the higher seeds throughout the tournament for the second-straight year. The No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will host the first round on Sunday, October 28, before the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will host the semifinals on Thursday, November 1.  The highest remaining seed will host the final on Sunday, November 4.
