Through the first five games this season, St. John’s keeper Andrew Withers has been near unbeatable, allowing only two goals on 18 shots.
This past week, the Wellington, New Zealand-native lead the Red Storm to a win and a draw without allowing a goal and earned Big East Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honors.
In St. John’s scoreless double overtime draw with Hofstra, Withers made fives saves. In the team’s 2-0 win over Temple, the redshirt junior had two saves.
Through five games, Withers leads the Big East in goals against average (0.38) and save percentage (.900) and is tied for the league lead in shutouts with three.
