During her first three years with the St. John’s women’s soccer team, Melville’s Christina Bellero has been a fixture on the pitch having made 55 appearances for the Red Storm.
Heading into her senior season in Queens, the Half Hollow Hills East graduate has been named to the Preseason All-Big East Team. She comes off a strong junior season in which she had 7 goals and 3 assists while leading the team in shots taken (48).
She was also a Second Team All-Big East selection after then 2017 season.
In addition, the conference also released its preseason poll with St. John’s ranked sixth in the Big East heading into the 2018 season. Georgetown was ranked No. 1 with 81 total points and 9 first-place votes with Butler second with 72 points and 1 first-place vote.
St. John’s opens the season on August 16 in Tennessee against the Volunteers. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
