Following two wins to start its 2018 Premier Development League (PDL) campaign, the Long Island Rough Riders are the second-ranked team in the league’s Eastern Conference.
In the PDL’s Power Rankings for Week 3, Long Island moves up one spot from the previous week. In moving the Rough Riders up in the rankings, league officials noted the team’s two wins over two of the division’s stronger teams.
On Saturday, May 19, the Rough Riders defeated the Ocean City Nor’easters 1-0 in a match played at Michael J. Tully Park in New Hyde Park. Charlie Ledula had the game’s only goal in the 60th.
The victory over Ocean City followed Long Island’s 3-1 road win over New York Red Bulls U23. The Rough Riders got goals from Noah Hutchins, Alexander Dexter and Nathaniel Crofts in the win.
Upcoming, Long Island hits the road for three consecutive PDL matchups— May 22 at FA Euro New York, June 2 at Evergreen FC and June 3 at Ocean City Nor’easters.
