In a final between two Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) teams, Rockville Centre Extreme defeated Stony Brook Spartak, 3-1, for the Boys-Under-12 Arch Cup Gold championship.

The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) championship game was played on Saturday, June 3, at Stringham Park in LaGrange.

Gavin Goodlad, Brian Hendry and Cyprian Motyl scored the Rockville Centre goals.

Tom O’Keeffe assists Garen Tchopourian coaching the team. Of the win, Tchopourian said, “I thought that our passing and possession won the game for us.”

Stony Brook also received the Rocco Amoroso Sportsmanship Award as determined by the game officials. Amoroso, a US Soccer Life Member who died in 2016, started the LIJSL Sportsmanship Program in 1980 that would later expand to Eastern New York, nationally and then to China and Ireland.
