For the second consecutive year, a knee injury has cut Florian Valot’s season short.
The New York Red Bulls midfielder suffered a right knee ACL tear during the team’s home-opening 4-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes.
The team said the native of Monaco, France, will undergo surgery in the coming week with team doctors at the Hospital for Special Surgery. A timetable for his return will be set following the surgery.
Valot, 26, missed the second half of the 2018 season with an ACL tear in his left knee.
