The New York Red Bulls have exercised options on 11 players and declined the options on six others as the Supporter’s Shield winners begin preparing for 2019.
Players who had their options exercised were goalkeepers Evan Louro and Ryan Meara; defenders Kyle Duncan, Aaron Long and Michael Amir Murillo; midfielders Vincent Bezecourt, Derrick Etienne Jr., Alex Muyl, and Florian Valot; and forwards Anatole Abang and Brian White
Defenders Tim Parker and Tommy Redding are both out of contract at the end of 2018. The club is in discussions to bring Tim Parker back in 2019.
Twelve other players are already under contract for 2019: goalkeeper Luis Robles; defenders Connor Lade, Kemar Lawrence, Hassan Ndam; midfielders Cristian Casseres Jr., Sean Davis, Andreas Ivan, Kaku, Jean-Christophe Koffi, Ben Mines, and Danny Royer; and forward Bradley Wright-Phillips.
