For the second time in three months, Tim Parker has been voted the Whitecaps FC Player of the Month.

The 24-year-old center back and native of Hicksville, N.Y., took home the honors for May by earning 35% of the votes in a poll conducted on Twitter this week, beating out Cristian Techera (27%), Brek Shea (26%), and Sheanon Williams (12%).

Parker, who was also voted the player of the month in March, played the full 90 minutes in five of Vancouver’s six matches in all competitions this month. He scored his first MLS goal against Sporting Kansas City and was named man of the match against Colorado Rapids, helping the Whitecaps keep clean sheets in both matches. He also led the team with 17 clearances and 24 duels won in MLS play.
