New York City FC traded forward Jonathan Lewis to the Colorado Rapids. In exchange, NYCFC will receive $650,000 of Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) and up to an additional $100,000 of TAM based on performance criteria. The team will also receive an international spot in 2020.

The transaction was completed before the close of the Primary Transfer Window on Tuesday, May 7, at 11:59 p.m. central time.

The additional international spot will give New York City FC a total of nine beginning January 1, 2020.

Lewis appeared six times in 2019 for NYCFC with one assist. Since being drafted in 2017, he played in 31 games, scoring three goals and adding five assists.

The forward earned a United States Men’s National Team call-up in January 2019 and has made four appearances this year.

Lewis was the third pick overall by NYCFC in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of Akron.
