New York City FC will travel to Orlando in February for preseason training and will take part in the inaugural Orlando City Invitational.

Domènec Torrent’s men will train in Central Florida from February 12-21. As part of Invitational, New York City will face hosts Orlando City SC on February 16 and Minnesota United on February 20. Both matches will be played at the Orlando City Soccer Stadium.

“We’re excited to return to Orlando for another preseason,” said Claudio Reyna, NYCFC’s Sporting Director. “This stretch is a very important time for our players and coaches and the friendlies in Orlando provide an opportunity to play MLS competition as we prepare for the season.”

“This will be an opportunity to continue to implement our style and tactical approach as we prepare for the 2019 season,” said Domènec Torrent, the team’s head coach. “We’ll be able to play all of our players and try different combinations against two really good MLS sides and get the team in the best possible shape mentally, physically and tactically for the season opener.”

Following its training session in Orlando, NYCFC will head to Tennessee to meet USL side Nashville SC on February 22. The friendly will be played at First Tennessee Park.

The regular season kicks off on Saturday, March 2, when NYCFC will return to Orlando to face Orlando City at 2:30 pm. New York City’s home opener will be the following weekend on Sunday, March 10,  at 3 p.m. against D.C. United.
