Max is coming back in 2019 as New York City FC’s Maxime Chanot has signed a multi-year contract with the Major League Soccer side.
“I’m very happy to sign a new contract with New York,” he said. “The club has been very successful over the past few years and I know we will continue to improve and remain one of the best teams in the league.”
Chanot has been a mainstay on defense for NYCFC since his first appearance for the team vs. the Colorado Rapids in July of 2016. During his two-plus season in the Bronx, he has appeared in 43 games and has three goals.
Prior to joining New York City, the French-born Luxembourg International played for clubs in England, France and Belgium. He most recently was with KV Kortrijk in the Belgian First Division.
“He is a key part of one of the best defensive pairings in the league and having him adds consistency to the backline ahead of next season,” said Doménec Torrent, NYCFC’s head coach. “His experience and leadership is a great asset for the younger players and Maxime’s professionalism is a help not only on the pitch but in the locker room as well.”
