Long Back On U.S. Roster For Upcoming Friendlies

Long Island native Allie Long will be back with the U.S. Women’s National Team for its upcoming friendlies as the team continues its preparations for this year’s World Cup.

Currently playing for Seattle Reign in the NWSL, Long is one of 24 players on the roster for head coach Jill Ellis.

The U.S. will play Australia on April 4 at Dick’s Sporting Good Park in Commerce City, Colo. (8 p.m. ET on FS1). Three days later, the Americans will face Belgium at Banc of California Stadium in Lost Angeles (9 p.m. ET on ESPN2).

Fellow Long Islander Crystal Dunn is also on the roster along with Sky Blue FC’s Carli Lloyd.

Also of note, defender Ali Krieger returns to the roster for the first time since the 2017 Tournament of Nations. She was a member of the 2011 and 2015 U.S. World Cup teams.
