Hofstra’s men’s soccer team will see postseason action in the Colonial Athletic Association following the team’s 2-1 overtime win over the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
The Pride has lost only one of its eight conference games, a 2-0 defeat to William & Mary, while winning three with four draws. This season marks the sixth consecutive season Hofstra has qualified for the postseason.
On Saturday night at Hofstra Soccer Stadium, Less than four minutes into overtime, Sophomore Luke Brown settled a cross from senior Jon Fraser and found the upper right corner from about seven yards out to earn the victory for Hofstra.
Brown was also instrumental in keeping the Pride’s postseason hopes alive. After UNCW took a 1-0 lead in the 61st minute, Brown’s shot in the 80th minute deflected to senior Mani Walcott, who would tie the game at one.
Hofstra goalkeeper Alex Ashton made four saves in the win.
