Hicksville’s Parker Trains With Brighton & Hove

Hicksville native Tim Parker of the Vancouver Whitecaps recently completed a training session in England with Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. of the English Football League Championship.

Parker this past season started 28 regular season match for the Whitecaps in Major League Soccer and was named to the league’s 24 under 24 list. He also appeared in three CONCACAF Champions League (CCL) matches for Vancouver and help the team qualify for the quarterfinals.

The overseas training stint was the first for Parker, who was reunited with left back Sam Adekugbe, a Vancouver home grown player who is on season-long loan with Brighton.

Currently, Brighton & Hove are in second place in the English Championship, one point behind league leaders Newcastle United. The first and second place teams in the Championship gain automatic promotion to Premier League.
