HBC Impact’s run to a national title ended Saturday in the semi-finals of the U.S Youth Soccer National Championships.

The Long Island side fell to CUP 00 Gold of Ohio 3-1 in the semi-finals of the Girls U-17 Division. With the loss, HBC ends a remarkable run that saw the team with the New York State Championship and then won all five games in the Region I Championships held over Fourth of July weekend in Virginia.

On Saturday morning in Frisco, Tex., HBC and CUP were level in a scoreless draw as halftime approached. Nicoletta Anuci gave CUP a 1-0 lead at the 44th minute.

The match stayed that way until the 77th minute when Paige Elliott scored and her teammate Jordyn Rhodes made it 3-0 four minutes later.

Nicole Scudero pulled one back for HBC in the 83rd but time would eventually run out on the Impact.
