The Impact opened the tournament on Tuesday with a 3-3 draw against California’s Legends FC 00 Academy. HBC had three one-goal leads in the match, but failed to hold the lead each time. The Impact got goals from Talani Barnett (2) and Gina Giovinco.

Game 2 was an offensive outburst for HBC as they defeated TFCA Alliance of North Carolina 6-0. Claire Mensi had a hat-trick with Julianna Kissane, Talani Barnett and Lauren Mastandrea each chipping in with a goal.

The other Long Island side at the National Championships in Frisco, TX, Dix Hills Elite, just missed on making the semi-finals in the Boys U19/20 division.

Following losses to OFC 98 of Oklahoma 2-0 and to Chicago Fire Juniors South of Illinois 2-1, Elite closed out Group play with a 3-2 win over FC United of Illinois.
