Sophomore Christina Gagliardi followed her five goal performance vs. Brooklyn College by scoring the game-tying and game-winning goal in St. Joseph’s 4-1 win over CCNY.

The Ronkonkoma native and Sachem North High School graduate tied the game at one in the 22nd minute when she scored off a pass from teammate Jessica Passabile (Lindenhurst).

With the game tied at one early in the second half, Gagliardi would give the Golden Eagles (2-2) the lead for good in the 49th minute when Josseline Sorto (Brentwood) found Gagliardi, who made a run up the middle beating two defenders and fired a shot into the CCNY net.

Continuing to pressure the CCNY’s defense, St. Joseph’s found an insurance goal in the 75th minute when freshman Carly Credidio (Farmingville) tallied her first career goal when she received a pass from Mackenzie Nyitray (Franklin Square) and beat the keeper for the open-net goal.

Just 10 minutes later Credidio doubled her goal total when Rebecca Walsh (Nesconset) lobbed the ball over the streaking freshman who banged it home to give the hosts a 4-1 lead.

SJC outshot CCNY 28-6 and held the advantage in corners, 12-5. Juliana Cintron-Leonardo was credited with three saves, while CCNY’s Catherine Langkamp made 12 saves.
