Two Long Island collegiate soccer players have been recognized for their efforts in the classroom and on the pitch by United Soccer Coaches.
Anderson, a Westbury native, is an exercise science major and posted a 3.34 grade-point average. The honor is the latest in a string of awards for Anderson, who this season was named the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year, while also earning ECAC and United Soccer Coaches All-Region First-Team honors.
Cappuzzo earned a 3.62 GPA as a Human Services major in the classroom while setting a new program benchmark for career assists at Northeastern with 25. The Merrick native tallied three goals and a single-season program record nine assists in her senior season to finish her career as the fourth-highest scorer in school history with 59 points.
